PRESIDENT: Great job. Get to bang gavel at club meetings and board meetings. You don't have to know a lot of good jokes - the board will supply them for you.
VP OF OBSERVATIONS: Another great job. You get to tell everyone where to go - at least for star parties, that is. Anyone interested in looking at the night sky would be a perfect.
VP OF PROGRAMS: One of the most fun positions - getting to talk to all sorts of interesting people who might want to speak at our membership meetings. Don't worry about speaker ideas, like the jokes, many come from the board or from members.
TREASURER: Like to see that green stuff rolling in? Unfortunately, you have to pay the bills, too. Still a fun job.
SECRETARY: This is the great job - you get to tell EVERYONE what to do, and what they said they would do at the last board meeting!
APPOINTED POSITIONS:
EDITOR: Put together the world-famous Celestial Horizons each month.
EQUIPMENT CHAIRPERSON: In charge of inspecting & maintain club equipment and keeping track of current loans. A challenging job, as we are just beginning to get a lot of scopes, but it could be very rewarding, too.
PUBLICITY: Let the public know what the VCAS is up to each month! You may even get quoted in the newspaper.
REFRESHMENTS: The best place to learn everyone's name. And don't worry - 'VCAS members will eat almost anything!
LIGHT POLLUTION CHAIRPERSON: Help our club keep informed and active in light pollution issues in our community.
REMEMBER - Our club is great because of the members in it.
